  2. Reading your network page I was struck by the emphasis being placed on video and film to promote literacy. Got me thinking, are we now entering a phase when speaking and listening will be considered the priority when teaching literacy? Will this logically transfer to media studies at secondary school? Where will our future authors and poets come from? Will the English language gradually decline in all its richness when every picture is worth a thousand words? Are we evolving into a world of show but not tell? Snow days can really set you thinking . . .
